We used to comment that time was going too fast. Our desire for more and faster made it appear that way. The reality is that time is moving at the same pace it always has. It’s just that our normal routine was replaced by uncertainty, and fear. Suddenly we didn’t know how to operate. Our autopilot has been put on hold and we have been forced to adapt, to slow down, to be grounded, to be present, until such time we can take off and cruise at a different altitude. So, now we have time.

How will we use this time we have been given? Will we use it wisely? Will we go back to the problematic old ways of doing things? What will we learn? What will we do differently? Will we innovate? How will we change individually and as groups, subcultures, and countries? And as human beings? And in how we treat our home – planet earth.

And whatever stage or level we’re working through at any given moment, that is the most important one for us, of course. Everyone has a unique path. The economy was operating generally at level 4 and 5 on the hierarchy of corporate needs. For many years, markets have been performing well – so well, in fact, that perhaps again we felt this was the “norm.” Sadly, it is not. This also goes for many freedoms that we have taken for granted.
