The Kedah menteri besar says certain news outlets published incomplete reports that left the wrong impression on the public.
Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor urged certain media outlets and netizens to remove social media postings that allegedly implicate the state government in a RM100 million fraud case involving local white rice supply.
Sanusi warned that legal action would follow if the postings were not taken down within 24 hours, Berita Harian reported. An MACC source said, based on the contract, signed seven years ago, the company obtained a bank loan for RM30 million. The suspect is alleged to have submitted documents containing false information to the bank.
He also said attention was being unfairly drawn to Kedah over the lack of local white rice in the market simply because the state was the main producer in the country.
