Presidential son and Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos has been elected as senior deputy majority leader.
This was announced and affirmed during the House session on Tuesday afternoon, July 26. The session was presided by House Speaker Martin Romualdez of the Leyte’s 1sr district.
This placed Marcos within the powerful Committee on Rules, which is chaired by majority leader and Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe.Also announced Tuesday were the election of deputy majority leaders Reps. Josephine Lacson-Noel, Marlene Primicias-Agabas, Lianda Bolilia, Franz Pumaren, and Jude Acidre.
Meanwhile, Reps. Anna Victoria Veloso Tuazon, Sancho Fernando Oaminal, Jaime Cojuangco, Richard Gomez, and Raul Angelo Bongalon were designated as assistant majority leaders. The Committee on Rules is traditionally the first panel that gets organized in the House of Representatives.
