The Sandiganbayan has reversed its own decision as it ordered the acquittal of three former officials of Orani Water District (OWD) in Bataan of graft charge in the alleged unlawful appointment of one board member in 2010. ManilaBulletin

The anti-graft court granted the motion for reconsideration filed by former OWD officials Edmund Lee Castañeda, Teresa Santos Santos, and Reynaldo Torres Ibe Jr.

The prosecution told the Sandiganbayan that with Ibe’s appointment, undue injury was caused to the government in the amount of P274,000, which represented the per diems and allowances he received. It said that it was unconvinced that Ibe was not aware of the law on temporary disqualification "as he insisted on his own interpretation."
