SANDAKAN: Bersih 2.0 has taken Parti Warisan Sabah to task, for allegedly misusing government resources and machinery to campaign in the Sandakan by-election.

The electoral watchdog was referring to a visit to Pulau Berhala by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie ApdalThis came after Mohd Shafie’s political secretary, Jo-Anna Henley Rampas shared a video on social media platform Instagram that depicted a group of Warisan party members heading to Pulau Berhala using a police speedboat.

“What would happen if the speedboat was needed for rescue or security matters for the people in Sandakan waters? Such a directive could influence Sandakan voters to vote for a party which represents the government of the day, such as the DAP, Bersih said. “But many questions can be raised over this, such as why now and why it took place when campaigning for the Sandakan by-election is ongoing.”
