The San Juan City local government launched on Saturday, June 17, its cycling campaign aiming to promote water conservation and increase the residents' knowledge about the adverse effects of the El Niño phenomenon. ManilaBulletin
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora spearheaded the bike ride dubbed as “Ang Tubig ay Buhay” Biking Parade together with other cyclists from San Juan City, which started at the Pinaglabanan Shrine.
The city government used cycling as an effective way to disseminate information among San Juaneños, especially those living in small barangays, as proven during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic wherein it launched multiple bike rides called "Bisikleta para sa Bakuna" to promote vaccination against the virus.
"Ngayon pa lang po ina-announce ko na na ang magiging selebrasyon ng ating Wattah Wattah Festival sa June 24 ay isang selebrasyon kung saang mapapakita din natin 'yung paggamit ng tubig ay bibigyan namin ng kahalagahan. Ibig sabihin we will have a celebration that is not connected with water consumption ," Zamora said.
