A high-pressure system is building along the West Coast and will make temperatures 3 to 5 degrees warmer than they've been

A high-pressure system will settle along the West Coast for the next few days, driving temperatures 3 to 5 degrees above average across San Diego County, especially on Thursday and Friday, said the National Weather Service.

San Diego hasn’t hit 71 or higher since Jan. 26. The seasonal average is 67.

Escondido will be 70 on Tuesday, 73 on Wednesday, 77 on Thursday and 75 on Friday. Chula Vista will be 70 on Tuesday, 72 on Wednesday, 78 on Thursday and 76 on Friday.Temperatures will drop sharply on Saturday, with most areas at or near the coast in the low 60s. Julian’s daytime high will be 57.
