The city of San Antonio and San Antonio Sports are planning to roll out a 'new, premier destination' marathon next year.

San Antonio 's Rock 'n' Roll Running Series is entering its final lap this year. In an email sent to registered participants on Friday, organizers of the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series announced the nearly two-decade tradition — which started in 2008 and has attracted thousands of runners from all over the country throughout the years — would not be returning to the Alamo City in 2025.
