This is the last week student Dominic Tosto has fittings with student designer Sophie Rosequist for an outfit he’ll model at the 15th Annual FashionAble show.
Looking in the mirror, Dom Tosto, 15, checks out his custom-made jersey during a fitting at Smithson Valley High School in San Antonio on Tuesday. Tosto is autistic and is a model in the 15th annual FashionAble show. The event, sponsored by Spina Bifida Texas, will feature over 20 young people with disabilities modeling adaptive clothes they created with fashion design students from local high schools.
This year is a first for Dominic — he’s one of 34 models who will cross the runway in the 15th annual FashionAble fashion show hosted by Spina Bifida Texas. The nonprofit provides services and programs to people affected by the condition in South and Central Texas. Gonzales said the community lends its support each year. Cavender Cares is covering the admission fees for the models’ families. GVTC Foundation is providing snacks and refreshments backstage.
