It features a Samsung BioActive sensor which includes an optical heart rate, electrical heart and bioelectrical impedance analysis. Besides heart rate measurement and irregular heart rhythm detection, users can also get a better understanding of their heart health with blood pressure and ECG monitoring. For the blood pressure monitoring feature, users would need to calibrate it with a traditional blood pressure cuff every four weeks.
The budget smartwatch runs on WearOS with Samsung One UI 5 Watch skin on top. As you would expect from a Galaxy Watch, it has 5ATM + IP68-rated water resistance and is also MIL-STD-810G tested. The smartwatch is compatible with smartphones running on Android 11 or higher. The Galaxy Watch FE is only offered as a Bluetooth and WiFi-only device without LTE connectivity in Malaysia. It also has NFC and support for Samsung Pay. Powering the watch is a 247mAh battery and it supports wireless charging.
