The new glass composition is touted to deliver improved drop performance on rough surfaces like concrete while preserving the scratch resistance from the previous generation Gorilla Glass Victus. Launched in November 2022, it also puts a focus on the environment and has achieved an Environmental Claim Validation for containing an average of 22% pre-consumer recycled content, as validated by Underwriters Laboratories .
In the statement, Corning said that it is proud to continue its long partnership with Samsung and have its innovations play a vital role in Samsung’s newest Galaxy smartphones. However, it was not mentioned whether all variants of the Galaxy S23 series will feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Well, we just have to wait a few days to find out for sure.
