Samsung Electronics registers 3% drop in Q1 profits

THE world’s biggest smartphone maker, Samsung Electronics, today reported a 3% drop in first-quarter net profits, as the coronavirus pandemic dampens consumer demand. Net profits for the January-to-March period stood at 4.88 trillion won , down 3.1% from a year earlier, said the company in a statement.
