“I ignored skin care for a very long time. It wasn’t until I hit problems that I actually started taking care of my skin,” says Australian actor Samara Weaving. Thanks to guidance from a dermatologist, she found solutions in the form of a routine featuring cleanser, exfoliant, soothing face serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. “I do think skin care and makeup can actually play quite a nice role into self-care,” notes the 30-year-old. “It’s a good time just to pause and take a breath.
Weaving’s makeup routine is considerably minimal, a surprising contrast to her portrayal of Jessica in the Hulu’s. In fact, she calls that role the biggest beauty transformation she’s ever done. “We wanted to make me look like I had a lot of plastic surgery done—like a face lift and we had fake teeth,” she says.
