After Arne Slot earmarked Jarell Quansah for criticism after his first Premier League match in charge of Liverpool, many of the club's senior players have been urged to help him
Rio Ferdinand warned Virgil van Dijk, Alisson and Mohamed Salah they need to help raise the confidence of 21-year-old Liverpool star Jarell Quansah.
While Manchester United legend Ferdinand admitted he enjoyed the ex-Feyenoord boss' honesty, he also sent a message to Liverpool's experienced stars that Quansah will need to have his confidence rebuilt. "I think that's important and I think looking back as a young player, I would like to see him get one more opportunity at least to go and rectify that situation and go, 'No, I can be dominant, I can win balls, I can win aerial challenges and be dependable'.
"It's not that Jarell lost every duel, many of us lost too many duels. So we needed Konate to win these long balls in the air towards their No. 9 , so that helped and gave us control.
