KOTA KINABALU, Jan 7 —The five Sabah Umno assemblymen who are going against the party’s stand to pull support from the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah government have retracted their call for party chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin to resign.

Amending their statement, the five removed the line demanding Bung step down as Sabah Umno chief for smearing the name of the party with the move. They still maintained their stance to support GRS chairman and chief minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. The five assemblymen are: Tanjung Keramat state assemblyman Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, Sindumin’s Datuk Yusof Yacob, Pantai Dalit’s Datuk Jasni Daya, Tempasuk’s Datuk Arshad Bistari and Sugut’s Datuk James Ratib.
