KOTA KINABALU: The tourism industry in Sabah is expected to see a recovery, but this is not expected to happen until the end of the year.
Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents president Datuk Seri Winston Liaw said this was evidenced by the occupancy rate of many Kota Kinabalu hotels, which remained less than 10% in June.
On the forecast for recovery, Liaw said it could be from 25% to 50% in 2020, increasing from 50% to 80% towards the end of 2021, depending on the location.
