KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government hopes to steer its tourism sector back to its glory days and has put in place various measures to rejuvenate the industry during the current recovery movement control order (MCO) and post-Covid-19.
said the state government was paying serious attention to its recovery and this was evident in the second stimulus package, dubbed the Sabah New Deal, that was unveiled by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal on Thursday .
She said that under the Sabah New Deal, a financial allocation of RM22mil has been earmarked for reviving the tourism sector. "I believe that with a concerted effort, concrete plans and strategies, our industry can pull through this crisis and emerge stronger to bring Sabah back to its days of glory," she told the inaugural Sabah Tourism Engagement Session with industry players, airlines, hotels and other stakeholders.
