KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded its all time high daily Covid-19 cases with 1,291 new infections.
Minister in charge of Covid-19 matters Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said of the latest cases, close contact contributed the most at 772 cases or 60% of the total number recorded yesterday.Of this, Masidi said 1,180 were under Categories One and Two.
Masidi said the state government must also ensure that Covid-19 vaccine supplies were sufficient at all times. Sabah’s Covid-19 daily new cases started to hit the four-digit mark starting on July 30 at 1,066 cases, followed by 1,035 on July 31, Aug 1 , Aug 2 and Aug 3 .In Labuan, a total of 1,263 people failed to turn up for their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
He said most of the defaulters were locals and that only a small number were from the oil and gas sector and ship crew.
