Sabah leaders cautiously welcome proposed restoration of state status

SABAH politicians welcomed the federal move to restore Sabah and Sarawak status as equal partners in the federation but reiterate the need to fully implement the Malaysia Agreement 1963. Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri welcomes the federal government’s move to amend Article 1 of the federal constitution and restore Sabah and Sarawak as equal partners in Malaysia, but hope it isn’t just a cosmetic effort.
