SEPARATE THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF. You are angry. I am angry. Majority of Sabahans who have been frustrated with the decades long delayed resolution of 40pc net revenue share for Sabah are angry. This is our constitutional right/entitlement and one of the reasons for Sabah to form Malaysia with Malaya and Sarawak.

We can scold, we can rile. Many want to “bay for blood” from those who have been responsible for the debacle at the Court of Appeal on 16th May 2024.

In this regard, we must “separate the wheat from the chaff” meaning we must decide which issue or person is good or important for Sabah and which is not”. Don’t let emotion overwhelm us or cloud our judgement. Our one and only objective is the 40pc net revenue share. The Federal Government has procrastinated payment for decades. Tun M and Lim Guan Eng have even spoken outright that the Federal Government could not afford to pay. The Federal Government has plenty of money, hundreds of billions of RM, to develop Malaya.

Lest it be forgotten, Hajiji has already regained many of Sabah’s MA63 rights. Hajiji’s affirmation is most assuring for all Sabahans. Also, his stand is logical as he has already started the fight for the 40pc net revenue share quite a long time ago.Hajiji’s point No. 2 is logical as SLS’s bringing the Federal Government to court is supplementary to Hajiji’s on-going efforts on this matter and will strengthen his negotiation position vis-a vis the Federal Government.

Not the time or the place for cheap political pop shots for selfish political agenda on this 40pc net revenue share.
