KOTA KINABALU: The purchase period for the Request for Proposal document for the upcoming Large-Scale Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant project will end next week on June 26.

"This is for all purchasers of RFP documents to facilitate the bid submission before its September 23 deadline," said ECoS chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid. "Currently, there are only 15 registered Electrical Contractors with Class PV , with nine of them being local Sabah companies. However, not all of them have the capability to handle large-scale solar projects," he said.

Acknowledging the importance of small-scale contractors, who are also needed to support ongoing SELCO-PV Sabah programs, he welcomed them to come forward to provide more choices to potential developers.
