Datuk Seri Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan cautioned the Suara Mahasiswa Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) group against being manipulated by certain parties during the Perhimpunan Aman Gempur Rasuah Sabah. He emphasized the importance of not falling prey to propaganda and manipulated videos, highlighting recent instances of misinformation spread through WhatsApp. Jeffrey advised the student group to avoid involvement in such rallies, stating that the government's stance against corruption is clear. He also addressed the appointment of Tun Musa Aman as the 11th Yang Dipertua Negeri, stating that such disagreements are common and that the public will eventually accept the appointment.
PENAMPANG: Timbalan Ketua Menteri, Datuk Seri Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan mengingatkan kumpulan Suara Mahasiswa Universiti Malaysia Sabah agar tidak disalah guna oleh pihak tertentu dalam penganjuran Perhimpunan Aman Gempur Rasuah Sabah .
“Sebelum sesuatu dibuktikan sahih, jangan dengar propaganda. Nampak sahaja video, sekarang video pun boleh diubah suai, boleh dimanipulasi. Jeffrey yang juga Presiden Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku berkata, beliau menasihatkan kumpulan mahasiswa UMS agar jangan terlibat dengan perhimpunan sebegitu. Mengulas tentang lantikan Tun Musa Aman sebagai Yang Dipertua Negeri ke-11, Jeffrey berkata, pertikaian mengenai lantikan itu adalah perkara biasa dan ia adalah satu keunikan. Lambat laun rakyat akan menerima juga pelantikan tersebut.
