KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has lost a great leader with the passing of former chief minister Tan Sri Peter Lo, says Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

In expressing his condolences to his family, the Chief Minister said Lo was a leader with vast experience who had contributed a lot to Sabah.

“He was involved in the formation of the federation of Malaysia, and was the second chief minister after the late Tun Fuad Stephens, ” he said after paying his last respects to Lo at the Fook Lu Siew Funeral parlour near here Thursday .Shafie said he had the chance to sit at one table with Lo years ago and had talked about Sabah and its direction.

“On behalf of the state government, I would like to express our sympathy and condolences to his whole family and we remember him for what he has done, his contribution to the state of Sabah and our country, Malaysia, ” he said.According to friends, Lo died of age-related illnesses at a private hospital here on Wednesday night in the presence of family members.
