Moon Jae In hoped the two Koreas could sit down together and have a mutually beneficial talk and an opportunity to reignite stalled diplomacy between the US and North Korea.

North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in during a visit to Samjiyon guesthouse near Mount Paektu in Samjiyon.

Moon, who brokered the talks between Washington and Pyongyang, welcomed Kim’s “firm commitment for the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula” and called for what would be his fourth meeting with the North’s leader. The remarks come after Moon’s brief summit with Trump at the White House last week as he tries to reignite the stalled diplomacy.
