Spectators at the Ryder Cup could be heard singing famous Cranberries hit 'Zombie' during Friday morning's foursomes.

It comes just days after the Cranberries song rung around the Stade de France following Ireland's Rugby World Cup win over South Africa. But there has been controversy over the use of the song, which was also played after Ireland's earlier World Cup victories over Romania and Tonga, as well as after Limerick's 2018 All-Ireland win, which came just months after the tragic death of lead singer of the Cranberries, Dolores O'Riordan.
Speaking after the song's release, O'Riordan said: "I was quite young, but I remember being devastated about the innocent children being pulled into that kind of thing. However, Tánaiste Micheál Martin said it is “absurd” to suggest that singing the song is “partitionist”.“I mean, the killing of any child is a reprehensible act. Bombs that were put in the middle of streets which resulted in the death of children is reprehensible.
