Ryan Tubridy has backed out of making his first public appearance since the much-publicised RTÉ secret payment scandal broke last June.
, the Director-General of RTÉ Kevin Bakhurst confirmed that Tubridy would not be coming back to his RTÉ Radio 1 show.The presenter was to be the keynote speaker at the Women & Agriculture Conference taking place on Wednesday at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny.
As part of the appearance, he had been scheduled to chat with Ciara Leahy, consumer editor at Irish Country Living, about his career, with their conversation planned to be focused around the conference's theme of"finding the balance".Instead, she said broadcasters Brendan Courtney and Sile Seoige will both now speak at the event, also stating that the conference is"completely sold out".
