The London-based radio presenter has learned 'an awful lot' since turning 50 last year but couldn't be happier with the positive experiences he's had since moving to the UK
It has been one year since the radio presenter signed off from The Late Late Show after 14 years as he marked his milestone 50th birthday. And in a couple of weeks, it will be one year since the beginning of the RTE payments scandal broke, which started with revelations that the national broadcaster had been overpaying Tubs.
"I hit 51 on Tuesday and found myself reflecting on an erratic year that was strewn with curveballs and kindness. I learnt an awful lot in an awful way," Ryan wrote in his Irish Mail on Sunday column. Ryan added that Q102, which simulcasts his Virgin Radio mid-morning programme, has seen a solid increase in listenership since he joined the team.
