Rutgers commit Ace Bailey and top target Dylan Harper will play games against Overtime Elite's semi-pro teams in Atlanta next month.
Rutgers commit Ace Bailey and top target Dylan Harper talk during a break in action at the SLAM Summer Classic at Rucker Park in Harlem, New York., and the 6-5 Harper, Rutgers’ top target and the No. 2 recruit in 2024, are each set to play a pair of games against semi-professional teams from Overtime Elite next month at the OTE facility in Atlanta. The building has three NBA regulation-sized courts that can seat up to 1,300 spectators.
“The experience that The Patrick School basketball team gains from playing two games against some of the nation’s best talent in back-to-back days is invaluable,” Chavannes told NJ Advance Media. On the weekend of Nov. 10-11, several OTE teams will come to New York City’s Baruch College for the Preseason Hustle and Heart Classic against all-star teams from New York and New Jersey. It’s possible Harper could compete in those games, too.
When the Thompsons signed with the league for its inaugural season in 2021, they and the other players agreed to contracts worth at least $100,000 each. That, in turn, made them ineligible for college basketball.
