Mikhail Popkov told Russian TV that his military background is now 'quite in demand.'
Mikhail Popkov, 58, is an ex-policeman who was convicted in 2015 of the sexual assault and murder of dozens of women between 1992 and 2010 in Angarsk and Irkutsk, in Siberia, and Vladivostok in Russia's Far East.
Despite his sentence, Russian authorities allowed state television to interview Popkov who is nicknamed"the Werewolf" and the"Angarsk Maniac." Popkov said he would like to be part of the scheme and when asked by the Vesti news channel"What is your dream?" he responded,"to get into the army."
