Over 2 000 international runners from more than 80 countries have entered the upcoming Comrades Marathon, the race office announced on Thursday.
The popular KwaZulu-Natal ultra-race, which starts in Pietermaritzburg and ends in Durban, will take place on June 11. According to the Comrades Marathon Association : [A total of] 2 354 international runners from 84 countries are entered into this year’s Comrades Marathon with the lion’s share of athletes coming from India with 403 athletes.In their top 20 international entry breakdown, CMA said Zimbabwe had the second-highest entries with 255 athletes, followed by the UK with 224, the USA with 173 and Brazil with 142 runners. We are pleased with the large number of international entrants in this year’s Comrades Marathon.
