Rumah Bonda founder Siti Bainun Ahd Razali will withdraw her appeal and file a new application for a stay of execution of her 12-year prison sentence for neglect and abuse of a teenager with Down Syndrome. The case was dismissed by the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court in May 2023.
Rumah Bonda founder Siti Bainun Ahd Razali will be filing a new application for a stay of execution of her 12-year prison sentence for neglect and abuse of a teenage girl with Down Syndrome known as Bella. Her lawyer Fatin Syaza Irdina Muhamad Eddin Syazri informed the Court of Appeal that Siti Bainun would withdraw her appeal against the High Court's decision to dismiss her application to stay the execution.
Siti Bainun is expected to file a new application for a stay of execution before High Court Judge Justice Noorin Badaruddin. Justice Noorin upheld the conviction and 12-year prison sentence against Siti Bainun on May 2, 2023, after rejecting her appeal to set aside the conviction and sentence ruled by the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court in May 2023
