Australia’s outgoing ambassador to the US says Canberra will be more ambitious with Washington under his successor Kevin Rudd.

Mr Sinodinos said Australia had led the world on pushing back against an increasingly aggressive China and that some policies on technology were followed by the Americans. “Clearly, there are elements of our national sovereignty, which are dependent on having a strong relationship with the US. But it works both ways is my point. The sovereignty argument has become a bit of a red herring in a way.
