The Sabah Malaysian Broadcasting Department (RTM Sabah) has made great strides of progress since its inception 70 years ago.
Kota Kinabalu: .RTM Sabah was first known as Radio Sabah in 1952, but was officially launched in 1955. It later changed its name to Radio Malaysia Sabah after the formation of Malaysia on Sept 16, 1963. RTM Sabah operates under the auspices of the Malaysian Broadcasting Department. In line with national policies, strategies and development, RTM Sabah continues to work to promote national integration. RTM Sabah at the Communications and Multimedia Ministry Integrated Complex in Kepayan.
The Current Affairs News Section, RTM Sabah is also committed to help spread the mission and vision of the State Government through news coverage of programs implemented, including in rural areas. For RTM Sabah’s five radio stations, namely SABAHVfm, TAWAUfm, SANDAKANfm and KENINGAUfm, it acts as a medium that disseminates the government’s policies and programmes to residents, in both urban and rural areas.
