Tales Of The TARDIS gives closure for several classic Doctor Who companions, even rectifying a companion injustice over 50 after they left the Doctor.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The recent Doctor Who spinoff Tales Of The TARDIS has given closure to several classic companions, but its most important feat is rectifying a major companion injustice over 50 years later. Created as part of BBC’s new Whoniverse collection to celebrate Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary, Tales Of The TARDIS takes audiences on a journey through six classic-era Doctor Who episodes.
Doctor Who’s companions have been through many difficult situations, but none more so than Jamie and Zoe, who were companions of the Second Doctor. Jamie, a Highland Scot from the 18th century, and Zoe, a 21st-century scientist, were signature companions of the Second Doctor’s tenure, but sadly, their time on the TARDIS came to a tragic end.
While the Doctor’s effect on Zoe is more tangible, Jamie has also gone on to have a long, joyous life because of what he learned from his journeys with the Doctor. Jamie, who had previously been teased as being shy around women, is now more self-assured. As a result of the confidence he gained while traveling with the Doctor, Jamie is now married and has a large family consisting of five daughters and 19 grandchildren.
Jamie & Zoe's Memories Are Restored As A Final Gift From The Doctor It seems odd that Jamie and Zoe would regain their memories of their Doctor Who days so long after they were forced to leave the Doctor, but Tales Of The TARDIS explains why they now remember. According to the Doctor Who spinoff, Jamie and Zoe’s restored memories are a final gift from the Doctor, fixing the huge tragedy that the two underwent over 50 years ago.
