Linda Bliss and Mark Honold said the short-term rental property placed by their home is constantly occupated by rowdy guests who host parties - their complaints have landed them a restraining order
An elderly couple have been slapped with a restraining order for complaining about their "disruptive" neighbours who host "loud parties" at an Airbnb property.
The pair said they are unable to enjoy their retirement and relax in their garden because of the constant noise coming from the rental. They said the issue has been going on for the past year and claim they have had to deal with strangers staring into their backyard each week.Linda and Mark said they have alerted the police five times and raised their concerns to the property manager, but the problem continues to control their day-to-day lives.
“It was very demeaning because I’m licensed by the state of Arizona for insurance, working with children, the elderly, and they came and treated me like a criminal,” explained Bliss. Arizona Family contacted the manager following the restraining order. According to the station, all guests and noisy parties are prohibited. The manager further said the couple are the only people to have complained.
"If you are going to go to court, either as a victim or witness or as party seeking injunction, you want to be able to put all the evidence in front of a judge and not just say, ‘Judge, take my word for it. This house is crazy.’”
