PETALING JAYA: Three people were injured when a section of the ceiling at the Megah Rise Mall here collapsed during the heavy downpour on Saturday (Oct 28) afternoon.
MELAKA: Eight classrooms and the administration block of SMK Munshi Abdullah in Batu Berendam here were badly damaged because of strong winds on Saturday .
The school's principal, Ramli Abdullah, said damages were severe, and two teachers' rooms were also affected. He also said that the incident happened at about 2.30pm."We will get advice from the Melaka Education Department whether to postpone the trial examination or to continue using alternative classrooms," he said.
Ramli said there were 10 teachers and a group of Form Six students at the school when the incident happened, and no injuries were reported."However, the nearby hostel wasn't affected," he said. Meanwhile, Ayer Keroh assemblyman, Kerk Chee Yee, said he has asked relevant departments, including the state Public Works Department, to expedite the remedial works.The Melaka Fire and Rescue Department also rescued a family of four trapped in their car after a tree fell on it.DPM Zahid ends UK visit by meeting Malaysian students
