The Portuguese forward has been widely linked with a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr in recent weeks, with reports in November suggesting that the 37-year-old has agreed to a salary in the Middle East that would make him the highest-paid player ever.
It was said that the free agent had agreed a two-and-a-half year deal worth £172.9 million a season with Al Nassr., the 37-year-old will remain on the continent after the World Cup in Qatar finishes as he is on the verge of signing a deal with the Saudi club.It is believed Al-Nassr has shown the most interest in the forward since his sudden exit from Manchester United in November.
There were reports that another Saudi team, Al-Hilal, were ready to make a lucrative competing offer for his services, but it appears Al Nassr have won the race for his signature.Al-Nassr are one of the most successful clubs in Saudi Arabia after being crowned the winner's of the nation's top flight on nine occasions and their most recent title came in 2019.
