North Carolina’s statewide Republican support of DeSantis comes as the GOP presidential candidate picked up 15 endorsements from South Carolina during a campaign stop last week. So far, DeSantis received support from 260 state lawmakers nationwide — 99 in Florida, 51 in New Hampshire, 37 in Iowa, 20 in Oklahoma, 19 in Michigan, 15 in South Carolina, and now 19 in North Carolina.Notably, last week, North Carolina Lt. Gov.
The latest polls have largely shown that Trump remains the most popular candidate among GOP primary voters. According to a recent Morning Consult survey, DeSantis trails behind the former president by 38 percentage points.
