Rockets’ Jalen Green stars in hilariously gruesome Liquid Death commercial
Liquid Death, you don’t make a commercial of you simply sitting on a stool enjoying a tasty beverage. If you’re Jalen Green, you film a 60-second video of you playing basketball with a severed head. Yes, that’s a real thing — the commercial, not the severed head.
In the spot, the Rockets star is playing basketball with a group of kids. It all seems perfectly normal, aside from using a poor man's decapitated head as the ball. To celebrate the partnership with Green, the brand really is selling a limited-edition basketball it’s calling “Liquid Death Hoop Head” for $125. The ball was designed by Will Carsola, the creator of Adult Swim’s “Mr. Pickles” and, according to the company, “is meant to make you feel like you’re playing basketball with an actual severed head.” If you’re into that sort of thing.
The Rockets star is the brand’s first NBA ambassador and investor in the company but he joins other athletes like legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk and NFL players Cameron Heyward and Austin Ekeler.
