ABC13's Neighborhood Safety Tracker shows over 40 robberies have been reported in Montrose this year, an area where police say crime is on the rise.
A man shares his story after him and a friend were robbed at gunpoint while leaving a bar in Montrose, an area where police say crime is rising."You think of your family, little ones, and the people that love you," Bryan, who did not want his entire identity revealed, said."The next thing I know, four young men jumped out of the car, ran towards us, and put a gun to my head," Bryan said.
At some point, he said, the men got back into their car and drove off. He and his friend eventually made it home and called the police.Neighborhood Safety Tracker Police said that the robbery does not appear to be a hate crime, but further investigation will determine if that changes.
