KOTA KINABALU: A dispute over an accident in Lahad Datu on Sabah's east coast took a violent turn when the confrontation escalated to involve deadly weapons.
Datu District Police Chief Superintendent Jimmy Panyau reported that a man had come forward to lodge a complaint about the incident, which has since gone viral on social media. "This incident was caused due to dissatisfaction over an accident, which eventually led to a fight among those involved. "The incident, also viral on the Info Lahad Datu Facebook page, is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which covers possession of deadly weapons in a riot," he said in a statement on Sunday .Following an investigation, police have detained one suspect believed to be involved in the incident to assist with inquiries.
