The City of Manila on Monday announced there would be road closures and traffic rerouting schemes for motorists as the Lagusnilad Vehicular Underpass is set to undergo rehabilitation beginning May 2.
"The rehabilitation project will take place for at least four months, or until September 2023, to ensure that the road is safe and convenient for motorists and commuters," said the Manila Public Information Office in an advisory.In the advisory, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said she understands motorists may be inconvenienced because of the rehabilitation projects, but says it is necessary.
"The rehabilitation of the Lagusnilad Vehicular Underpass is a much-needed project that will greatly benefit our motorists and commuters. This underpass is an important route for those traveling to Taft Avenue, and it has long been in need of repair due to its deteriorating condition," she said. Lacuna assured the public the city took measures to make sure there will be minimal disruption for both motorists and commuters.
