Sylvia was accused of cheating Janetta Masudal Bernadine by making her to believe that she (Sylvia) was offering a food truck business investment and dishonestly made Janetta hand over RM895,000 cash as capital for the business to her.

Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun discharged and acquitted Sylvia Joan Mansul without her defence being called.Jessica in delivering her ruling held that the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case against the accused. Sylvia was accused of cheating Janetta Masudal @ Bernadine by making her to believe that she was offering a food truck business investment and dishonestly made Janetta hand over RM895,000 cash as capital for the business to her.
