KUALA LUMPUR: RM5 Menu Rahmah meals will be offered in targeted areas where affordable meals are needed the most, says Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali .
He said Menu Rahmah was a private-sector initiative and some traders have said rising costs made it difficult for them to continue offering RM5 meals. “We are committed to ensuring that Menu Rahmah is offered in targeted areas and that is why we are negotiating without involving direct subsidies to them.
“We are considering giving traders in targeted areas access to buying ingredients in bulk under the Rahmah Madani Sales Program,” he said in his winding-up speech on the Supply Bill 2025 in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday .Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin had asked for an update on Menu Rahmah.
