The dam is a joint venture between the Sabah government and the private sector and will be completed in 2027.
Sabah chief minister Hajiji Noor said the dam will serve as a long-term solution to the water woes in Sabah.
Hajiji said the dam will be launched in October and completed in 2027, with a capacity of 6,000 million litres of water per day, The Borneo Post reported. Hajiji also said the Sabah government is conducting a feasibility study on the Papar Dam, which will also serve as a long-term solution to the state’s water supply issues.
