VIENTIANE: China will 'respond resolutely' to any violation by the Philippines of a recent deal to calm tensions between the two countries in the South China Sea, its top diplomat told his Filipino counterpart, Beijing said Saturday (July 27).

MIRI: Implementing the Sarawak coastal erosion and flood mitigation project, which has been approved with an allocation of RM316 million, will protect 45,000 coastal residents from flooding and coastal erosion , says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof .

He said this to reporters while visiting the federal project and handing over the completed DID project to the Sarawak government in Lutong on Sunday . Fadillah said that under the development expenditure for the Fourth Rolling Plan of the 12th Malaysia Plan , the Federal Government, through the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Ministry , has approved 46 projects related to water resources, water supply, and sewerage services in Sarawak, with a total cost of RM6bil.

Fadillah and Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin also visited the Sungai Miri Flood Mitigation Plan .
