Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central Senatorial District has expressed concern over the political crisis rocking Rivers State, calling on President Bola Tinubu to immediately intervene.
She said the feud between the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor, Siminalaya Fubara was not in the interest of Rivers people, insisting that Tinubu should intervene before the feud degenerated further. In a statement made available to DAILY POST by her Chief Press Secretary, Arogbonlo Israel on Tuesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan urged Tinubu to ensure that the FCT Minister focuses on his job.
The crisis, she noted, has been characterised by violence, intimidation, and alleged electoral malpractices, threatening the peace and stability of the region and the country at large. She urged President Tinubu to rise to the occasion of protecting the innocent citizens, lives and properties and be committed to the promotion of peace and tranquility in the circumstances that Rivers State found itself.
