Kaizer Chiefs have shared a heartfelt message following the tragic death of young defender Luke Fleurs in a botched hijacking.
“It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce that Kaizer Chiefs player, Luke Fleurs tragically lost his life last night during a hijacking incident in Johannesburg.“The SAPS are handling the matter and further details will be communicated in due course.said Luke Fleurs was killed by a single bullet to the upper body, and the incident is now under investigation. Apparently two armed suspects approached Fleurs and instructed him to get out of his car before shooting him.
The incident was said to have occurred while he was at a petrol station in Roodepoort. One of the suspects is reported to have fled the scene with Fleurs’ vehicle, but no arrests have been made as yet.Fleurs surprisingly parted ways with SuperSport United earlier this season and ultimately made an exciting move to Chiefs after undergoing successful trials.
