Ringgit Seen Trading Around RM4.50 to US Dollar Next Week

The ringgit is expected to trade around RM4.50 to the US dollar next week, as investors remain cautious ahead of the US inflation report and speeches by US Federal Reserve officials. Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist Dr Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid said the focus will be on the US inflation rate, with the Producer Price Index to be released on Tuesday and the Consumer Price Index on Wednesday. He anticipates the Fed Funds Rate to be maintained at 4.50-4.75 per cent when the Federal Open Market Committee meets on January 28-29.
