New details about Rick Grimes' situation with the CRM mean that he could have had more children after his exit from The Walking Dead in season 9.
Details regarding Rick Grimes’ Walking Dead spinoff mean that the character could have had more children. For years, it’s been presumed that in light of his situation, Rick must be enduring a rough and lonely existence. However, that may not be the case at all.
Exactly what Rick has been up to since his exit from the main series has never been fully explained, but it is known that he’s been a captive of the CRM. The villains abducted him in season 9 and were seen in hot pursuit of him in The Walking Dead series finale. That, combined with the fact that Rick has been isolated from his family for more than six years now, is enough to suggest that Rick has been in a dark place.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Rick Grimes May Have Had More Children Since His Walking Dead Exit In spite of his current situation, it’s possible that Rick found some measure of happiness and even has more children now. While it’s easy to assume that Rick’s life since The Walking Dead season 9 has been anything but pleasant, there’s no proof that Rick has been kept a prisoner this entire time.
During his long stay with the CRM, Rick could have eventually come to accept that he was never going to escape. Theoretically, such a realization could have led to Rick finding love again and having another child. What makes this a possibility is the massive time jump from season 9. Since Michonne didn’t start looking for him until season 10, Rick has been away from home for at least six years during the timeframe of his upcoming spinoff series.
